Forschung zum Wilkie-Syndrom (AMS-Syndrom)

Vor kurzem konnte ich mich mit Prof. Sandmann im St. Elisabeth Krankenhaus in Volkmarsen über seine Forschungsergebnisse austauschen. Seine interdisziplinäre Arbeit hat noch keine konkreten Ergebnisse, aber sehr gute Ansätze. Man geht inzwischen davon aus, dass zumindest bei einem Teil der PatientInnen der verminderte Abgangswinkel eine Folge der Gewichtsabnahme ist. Diese wiederum wird von den Problemen bei der Nahrungsaufnahme verursacht. Man vermutet, dass es sich um eine noch nicht diagnostizierte angeborene Krankheit im Darm(nerven?)bereich handelt. 

Viele Ärzte sind leider überzeugt, dass es sich bei unseren Beschwerden "nur" um psychosomatische Beschwerden handelt und verneinen das Wilkie-Syndrom. Vielleicht mag das auf den einen oder anderen Patienten zutreffen, aber der Großteil bekommt erst psychische Probleme, weil er nicht ernst genommen wird. Eine psychologische Begleitung kann zu einer Verbesserung des seelischen Zustandes führen. Viele PatientInnen verspüren ja einen großen Leidensdruck. Wenn es ein guter Psychologe ist, wird er gegebenenfalls die PatientInnen ermutigen, die Suche nach der körperlichen Ursache der Beschwerden nicht aufzugeben.
