Was ist ein normales Leben? Frei von Beschwerden? Ohne Schmerzen? Bin ich normal, wenn ich gesund bin? Führt man dann ein normales Leben, wenn man sich sein Brot selber verdienen kann? Was für den einen normal ist, ist vielleicht für den anderen absurd. Ein gesunder Mensch kann abnormal leben und ein Kranker kann sein Leben als normal empfinden. Für mich heißt ein normales Leben, ein Leben ohne künstlicher Ernährung, ohne häufiger Krankenhausaufenthalte, ohne starke Schmerzmittel. Diese Normalität habe ich erreicht. Für mich ist aber auch normal, schlechte Tage zu haben, denn mit der Gefäßoperation sind meine anderen Gebrechen nicht geheilt. Normal ist für mich, dass ich mich über das Leben freue und dankbar bin. Dass ich trotz Beschwerden meine sozialen Kontakte aufrecht erhalte und mich in meiner Umgebung nützlich machen kann. Aber genau genommen falle ich damit aus der Norm und bin nicht normal. Denn wie viele Menschen können sich über das Leben freuen, noch dazu wenn es Gebrechen hat? Wie viele Kranke brechen die sozialen Kontakte ab und ziehen sich in ihre vier Wände zurück?
